Ice Lamp Moon - Aplectrum hyemale  $125    2002
10 3/4" diameter, circle cut out with no border.  Would need dry mounting for framing.
Accented with silver metallic watercolors.  300lb hotpress watercolor paper.

Aplectrum hyemale (Puttyroot) is a wild orchid of rich deciduous woods in the eastern U.S.
The single leaf sprouts in September, remains green througout the winter, and dies in May
just before the plant blooms.  Leaf, flowers, seedpods, and root are shown here.

Giant Desert Centipede - Scolopendra heros  $125    2002
2002  10 3/4" diameter, circle cut out with no border.  Would need dry mounting for framing.
Accented with gold metallic watercolors.  300lb hotpress watercolor paper.

Painted life size from a centipede that lived in my yard.  The orange-brown is "eco-friendly"
iron oxide recycled from acid mine drainage.  The other colors are copper ores.
