Toxicodendron radicans  Poison Ivy
DECIDUOUS WOODY VINE.  "Leaves of three, let it be."  Leaves divided into three leaflets with irregular teeth.  Plants in the Empires are small and creeping, with the main stems hidden under rocks, soil, or other vegetation, so they don't look like vines.  Well-developed plants have open, spindly clusters of small yellowish flowers followed by dry white or gray berries that last through the winter.  In the Empires, uncommon along Davidson Canyon and the larger washes, where the microclimate provides sufficient humidity.  Skin contact may result in itching and blisters in susceptible people.
FAMILY:  Anacardiaceae  (Cashew Family)
