*Salvia columbariae  Chia
EXOTIC ANNUAL.  Distinctive lobed, fuzzy, opposite, puffy-wrinkled leaves.  Tight round purplish flowerheads ringed with bright blue flowers.  Blooms in March-April.  Dried seedheads may persist for several months.  Leaves have strong sage smell when crushed.  Occasional on open ground, disturbed areas, roadsides.
