Quercus turbinella  Turbinella Oak, Shrub Oak
EVERGREEN TREE.  Small, flat, bluish green leaves have pointed tips and several prickly teeth.  Acorns usually short and top-shaped, but may be larger and more elongate in well-watered trees.  Trunk and branches are curved and contorted.  In the Empires, an uncommon tree in small limestone canyons and on granite tors.
