Portulaca suffrutescens  Shrubby Purslane
PERENNIAL.  A low, semi-erect fleshy plant with narrow, cylindrical spine-like leaves.  Pinkish orange flowers, 2 cm in diameter, bloom in August after summer rains and are only open in bright sunlight.  In the Empires, rare in fine gravel or on rocky hillsides.
