Polanisia dodecandra  Redwhisker Clammyweed
ANNUAL.  Entire plant covered with small red sticky hairs.  Leaves trifoliate (in threes), oval, pointed.  Plants usually have several branches, with a cluster of white flowers at the top of each branch.  Flowers ragged looking, with prominent red stamens.  Blooms in May-June, later than most spring wildflowers.  In the Empires, frequent in loose sand, roadsides, washes, etc.  Especially common in the drier parts of Davidson Canyon.
