Mimulus suksdorfii  Miniature Monkeyflower
EPHEMERAL ANNUAL.  Tiny yellow flowers with elongate ribbed red calyces, dark red stems, and long oval leaves with blunt tips.  Flowers resemble those of M. guttatus but are less than .5 mm across.  As ephemeral as they come - the plants sprout, bloom, go to seed, and disappear within less than a month.  Not yet recorded for southern Arizona, to my knowledge.  In the Empires, found in flat sandy areas on a broad granite wash.
FAMILY:  Phrymaceae (Lopseed Family)
