*Medicago polymorpha  Bur Clover
ANNUAL.  A trailing weed with tiny yellow pealike flowers, bluish-green trifoliate leaves, and spiny clustered pods (1 - 1.5 cm) that are coiled like snails.  Plants are hairless, smell like rotting grass, and feel cool to the touch.  Blooms in April-May, gone by midsummer.  A noxious exotic weed on disturbed ground.
