Lesquerella fendleri   Limestone Bladderpod
PERENNIAL.  A low, compact, tufted plant with small, narrow, grayish green leaves and lemon yellow flowers that are distinctly striped with orange at the base of each petal.  Seedpods spherical.  Blooms in March-April.  In the Empires, restricted to a few marble hills. L. gordonii has larger leaves, longer stems, and smaller flowers that lack stripes.  Sometimes placed in genus Physaria.
