Ericameria laricifolia  Turpentine Bush
SUBSHRUB.  A compact little shrub, usually less than half a meter tall.  Leaves are needlelike, bright green, shiny and resinous, aromatic (hence the common name).  Bright yellow flowers are rather ragged looking.  Blooms from early summer until frost.  Often one of the last plants in bloom.  In the Empires, common throughout on ridges and among rock outcrops.
