Corydalis aurea  Yellow Corydalis
ANNUAL or BIENNIAL.  Entire plant very smooth and glaucous (covered in a whitish bloom).  Tubular, crested, short-spurred yellow flowers on erect or semi-erect stems.  Pods narrow, cylindrical, pealike.  Leaves bluish green, finely dissected.  Blooms February-April.  Occasional in the Empires in damp, sunny, sandy places.  May be very short (less than 10 cm tall) or tall (nearly 1 m) depending on availability of water.  Leaves resemble those of Eschscholtzia californica (desert poppy) but leaflet segments are more pointed.
