Bommeria hispida  Copper Fern, Star Fern
XEROPHYTIC FERN.  Hairy star-shaped leaves are brown and fuzzy underneath.  Long creeping rootstocks.  In the Empires, rare on shady ground among granite outcrops in desert grassland.  A common fern in southeastern Arizona, but the Empires are mostly too low in elevation for this species.
