Baileya multiradiata  Desert Marigold
PERENNIAL.  Very showy clusters of tall, brilliant gold flowers.  Leaves are lobed, aromatic, and covered with fine, dense white fuzz.  Flowers are distinctive for their crowded, multiple layers of triangular ray florets that have finely lobed tips.  Blooms in May and again in July-October after summer rains.  Common on gravelly flats, roadsides, etc.  Sometimes cultivated.
