Astragalus nuttallianus  Dwarf Loco
ANNUAL or PERENNIAL.  A very small Astragalus, easy to miss.  Semi-erect stems have pinnate, slightly fuzzy leaves with narrow oval leaflets.  Long flowerstalks have 2-5 pale purple or pink flowers that have a white spot at the center.  Flowers are less than 1 cm in diameter.  Tiny crescent-shaped pods, 1.5-2 cm long, cylindrical in cross-section.  Blooms in April-May.  In the Empires, occasional throughout.
